SUPERYACHT REFIT & REPAIR
STAINLESS STEEL TANKS
The surface of the stainless material is covered with a microscopic thin layer against rust and pitting. It is passively supplied by the austenitic stainless steel supplier. Mechanical and thermal processes to which tanks are exposed during production cause damage and contamination of the protective chromium oxide film. The heat-treated material has also lost this layer feature. If iron dust on the heat-treated surface or material surface is not cleaned, corrosion will occur in these areas over time. As a result of our applications, we clean these areas with chemical cleaning products and ensure that a chromium oxide layer forms on the material surface.
We carry out the cleaning process of stainless steel types in three general steps;
